Mary Elizabeth Vorrath (www.maryelizabethmusic.com and www.disciplesofworship.com) joins Peter in the studio to sing her hit worship song, "Sit Enthroned." Visit her websites for more of her music and to support her in work in the nation of Norway.
A small town Iowan girl with big dreams. A young, humble heart with open hands, simply saying, "Lord, use me." A dream to be caught, a vision to be fulfilled- this is the story of Mary Vorrath's journey.
Ever since she was a little girl, a genuine love for singing and music was planted in Mary's heart. Her love for music grew with age. As the teen years hit, her voice became recognized through church and school activities. Though her talent for music grew evident beyond herself, there was still an emptiness found deep inside a corner of her heart. An evening at a Rebecca St. James concert would change that.
"It was during this concert that I committed my life to following hard after Christ. He became so real to me- more than a religion but the very purpose of life itself. I was so inspired at the concert by the message of purity Rebecca was sending through her music. I told God I wanted to make a difference with my life and not just live the same mundane life I saw many others live. I wanted to use my talents to serve the Lord and help people come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ."
Shortly after her life-changing moment, Mary had the opportunity to be a part of a traveling music ministry called "Faith Sound". This involved traveling around to church services around the Mid Western states to minister to people's hearts through music. As her love for the Lord grew more alive within her, it quickly became a joy to use her gift of music to bless others. While she continued to pour out her gifts of music during high school, a love for the nations captivated her as well. Not quite sure how music and missions would join hand in hand, she trusted the Lord to guide her with these separate callings.
After high school Mary joined a ministry internship at Teen Mania's Honor Academy. A part of her dream for worship unfolded as the "School of Worship" program was birthed at Teen Mania. Mary had the opportunity to partner with Ron Luce's vision from Teen Mania, as well as Paul Baloche, in starting and developing this program to equip and train worship leaders.
Over the past years Mary has led worship for thousands of youth across America at Acquire the Fire events & churches. She's been a part of the A& R for 2 albums of The School of Worship distributed through EMI in many Christian book stores. She wrote 2 of the songs on the newest album Christ in Me- The Annual including "Sit Enthroned" & "Resonate" which are now sung across the nation in church congregations and youth events.
As the former director of The School of Worship, Mary has received the privilege of pouring into many lives, teaching classes, and equipping a young army of lead worshippers & musicians. During the past three years she has been the Youth Worship Pastor at her local church, Community Christian Fellowship. Paul Baloche, world renown songwriter & worship artist, is the Senior Worship Pastor of this congregation; Paul has been a key worship mentor in Mary's life and has taken her under his wing for the past five years in worship leading, songwriting, teaching, and other life principles.
As Mary's passion for music grew into amazing opportunities, so did her taste for missions: she has traveled to Panama, Mexico, India, Italy, Hungary, Scotland, England, Norway, Romania, and other nations to share the love of Christ. Throughout the past several years God has burdened Mary's heart for Europe. Norway has been a specific country that has been heavily laid upon her heart. In 2009 & 2010, Mary took a team of her School of Worship students to tour across Norway, ministering through music and teaching worship seminars. Mary's love toward this nation grew immensely as God continued to give her dreams and visions of Norway.
Now Mary is about to embark on a journey to Europe this Spring as God fulfills the dreams & vision for this continent. She will be moving to Bergen, Norway in January 2012 and working with the churches encouraging them in the area of worship. Now as the founder of Disciples of Worship, she aspires to equip the worshippers throughout the nations and start a worship school in Europe.

@blackpinkninjaarika If you're trying to learn it, it's probably easier to demonstrate than to describe. I'll try to break it down in a video soon. :-)
