It's a bit tricky to deduct the price sold from the value of the items after the fact, but they really should've researched the value of the items first. Yes, they want to raise as much money as they can, but to not research the value of the items equates to the panic mode the teams took when they sold over 1000 pounds of soap for 400 pounds.

I'm wondering if the groups knew in advance that the value of the items will be deducted from the price they went for. Makes the whole game kinda pointless if you think your goal is to raise as much money as you can which seemed to be what both teams were doing.
