Sinhalese and Tamils ahve both lived in SL for atleast100 years and we both came originally from India adn mixed with the local 'Yaksha' Naga' gotras.
Tlday both cultures absolutely belong to SL.
This is absolutely SL dance.
But it isnt traditional Sinhala or Tamil only - it is both performed complemantarily - which is beautiful. - as a concept & idea, also in the performance. Lets enjoy it and be proud of both!

More than 2000 years written and documented history, Malli. Very unique. Although Tamils are not originally from Sri Lankan, they've come and gone and gotten assimilated into the Sinhala population, for centuries, if not for millennia.
