The Helen Hayes Hospital Adapted Sports and Recreation Program is one of the most comprehensive adapted sports programs in the country. Handycling, wheelchair sports, wheelchair dancing, adapted kayaking, skiing and more--we do it all! The program reaches out to current and former patients, as well as members of the community, who live with a disability and would like to try out a new activity or resume an activity they enjoyed prior to their disability.
Prior experience is not required to participate in any activity. The Program is open to individuals with all types of disabilities, including spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, cardiac conditions, orthopedic and neurological disorders.
