The Excluysive HD 1080p Quality Trailer for The Other Boleyn Girl! The Other Boleyn Girl is a 2008 British drama film directed by Justin Chadwick. The screenplay by Peter Morgan was adapted from the 2001 novel of the same name by Philippa Gregory. It is a romanticized account of the lives of 16th-century aristocrats Mary Boleyn, one-time mistress of King Henry VIII, and her sister Anne, who became the monarch's ill-fated second wife.

Production studio BBC Films also owns the rights to adapt the sequel novel, The Boleyn Inheritance, which tells the story of Anne of Cleeves, Katherine Howard and Jane Boleyn.

  • I happen to like henry in this. The book he's....ehhhh

  • Isn't henry supposed to be really fat?

  • thats kinda impossible for a king to live to see his daughter take his throne...unless he was dethroned or something

  • catherine cookson meets english history...henry was nothing like this..total utter rubbish.

  • great movie, but i wish king henry looked different

  • they make anne and marys mother seem like she actually cared about them and the fact they were being traded like cattle..but thats how everything was done back then involving women it wouldnt have been anything out of the ordinary

  • They made the mistake of portraying Anne's mother as compassionate and caring, but she was in fact just as ambitious as the rest of the family. In the end, Anne did reach too high and she was in the end, just a clueless woman who ended up in over her head and drowned.

  • I have read the book. After a while I stopped reading it because it was too emotional

for me. Yet, after almost half a year I started again and finished the book.

I have only one word to describe it:

    WOW.

I recommend it to anyone who loves the story behind King Henry VIII.

  • i wish they had found younger actresses. When the book starts Mary is 13 and Anne is 15, not in their 20s like Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman
