  • The Leverevolution line of ammo usually doesn't expand properly from pistol length barrels. It was just designed for rifles because the longer barrels allow the bullet to gain more velocity. Also, this bullet appears to be based on the XTP, which typically expands to about 1.5x the original diameter, which means the bullet is designed for more penetration than expansion, so don't expect a huge mushroom when it works correctly. Just my 2 cents...

  • id like to see the results from a rifle barrel. possibly different

  • @newhuskytwenty true but maybe andre should test this same round in critical defense 45lc i assume expansion would be flawless since its designed for short barrel pistols unlike lever evolution for rifles

  • @tubevideoguy762Ok, understood :-(. Longer barrel, better expansion

  • @newhuskytwenty

wasn't designed to work that way this stuff is NOT critical defense which they do make in this caliber its called leverevolution for a reason its for lever action rifles 18 inch + barrel not 6 or less handgun

  • yaa i agree... for the price of them i figured thay would expand a lil better than that....

  • craaaaaaaapy, total fail

  • Try the hornady critical defense 45 colt. They introduced new last year.

  • @stevenfeagler lol there made for rifles not pistols

  • @andreleger2001 oh yeah.. I understand.. So more penetration and very little expansion. Probably if it hit something hard it would work much more effectively.. I.e. bone or something.. But who knows...

  • @YamahaWR200 My theory on this design is that the rubber 'tip' effectively breaks the water surface with little disruption and allows the round to 'slip' into the water easier. The critical defense line of ammo, which looks very similar to these, works great with a flat 'tip'. These results may not translate into flesh/gel like other rounds. I think I may try to snip the tip some and make them flat like the critical defense line and see if they expand in water.

  • Wow I cant belive that these are the rounds that I been relying on for years to keep be safe from bears! HORONADY COULD HAVE GOTTON ME EATEN!!!!!!!!!
