First runs at the drag strip with the 302 powered RX7. Need to get the 60ft time down and run 12's.

  • hey man so dos the stock oil pan work in these cars?

  • @bbsombs The factory 5.0 oil pan works. You revers the Rx7 cross member.

  • what rear end are you running? i want to do a v8 swap in mine but don't know if the stock rear end will hold up.

  • @pwdkawi11 If you have the disc break posi rear it is the stronger one. Suppodedly good to 10's when in good condition.

  • Either its your camera... or it sounds like your fuel pump is crazy loud! or you have the car revved up high idling

  • always get a kick from the babe @ 1:55....LOL..

  • @nightmathzombieethan I have lots of "backyard" experience over the years, and i'm a bit of an afficionado of older Japanese cars, so I've never really gotten into "American muscle" till lately (I'm going back to school to get my ASE). I really like the idea of combining the best of both worlds!

  • @T25Accent

Wow on both counts! I didn't think the Mustang would be that much heavier, and I didn't think the Rotary would be that heavy/302 would be that light... I always supposed that the rotary was a fairly smal light motor, and that the 302 would be pretty heavy...was it an aluminum block? Sorry, but I really don't know squat about american engines (in case you hadn't noticed! LOL) and I've just started working on them...right now i'm actually building up a chev 350 and lovin it!

  • @nightmathzombieethan 900lb difference or so between rx7 and fox body mustang. 50lb diff between rotary and 302.

  • @T25Accent i got a low 11 sec all motor v8 rx7 it is a 1979 with 351w ford v8 and t-5 transmission and ford 8.8 rear end it had spray at one time and was a mid 10 sec car with spray but i sold that because it can break the car.. technically you should go autocrossing and road racing with that its fun imma start making videos of my rx7 when i get a chance

  • @T25Accent i have an 82 with rear drum, not a posi. and i have an 83 also with rear disc, but i've been told that its not the beefy rear end. how would i be able to tell without yanking it?
