  • I always think its funny that people have to have "american muscle." and any time a jap. car with a TT system comes in people say its a pos... lmfao if its a POS then why does it do a 1/4 mile faster than these huge V8s....

  • I like old american muscle, just as I like old Harleys, old guns, etc.... sure the new stuff is great, but old school is my preference- not because its better, but because thats what I like. Imports are not my thing, but I have a lot of respect for what you guys get out of those little engines.

  • dont really wont to pull the engine out,but if you reckon these dome pistons are worth it then i may just do that, think for the time being ile change the heads and see how we go,i assume my comp springs and lifters will fit?And the heads came with the valves so ile just use them for now.

  • springs, etc...SHOULD fit another set of heads. many truck heads had exhaust valve rotators, and may have different spring pocket depths. just be sure to check your seat pressure/installed height, and shim if you need to. still gonna need some compression, but the heads will help some

  • In the Philippines, muscle cars have 2.0 liter engines. . . most of the cars here are from Japan...yes, I have respect for the "ricers" (fastest was a 8.5sec 1/4mile from a 1.6L Mitsubishi Lancer) but man, I LOVE MUSCLE CARS so much that after I finish med school, I'ma buy this 66 Oldsmobile 442 (or was it a cutlass) from a junkshop that thinks its ..junk (good for a hearse or something..NAH! I want that piece of metal! hehehe)

  • Thanks very much for all the info!im gonna put these heads on this week and ile post u with the results.

  • the heads will help, but your compression is more of an issue than anything. that cam honestly needs at LEAST 9:1 to work good, 9.5-10:1 would be best. think it runs good now, wait till you up the compression and do those heads!!!! youll get a BIG gain!!!

  • Do you think ile still get some performance gain tho?to be honest its pretty dam quik as it is.the cam thats in it is a comp cam 280 with intake lift 0.520 and exhuast lift 0.520 it came in a kit called a magnum , i got the timming gear with the chain, lifters springs etc.. ,as you probably gather im a complete novice and have probably been given the wrong advise from the begining. Its in a 1982 full size blazer,so ive got the weight issue to start with.the pistons are i think stock

  • '781' heads arent bad for the street. you can use your old pistons, but if they are flat tops, youll be ABOUT 8:1 compression. dont go thru all the work of changing heads if youre not going to up the compression. really need a set of small domes to get your compression up.

  • Ok right ive can get hold of some heads, the casting numbers are:336781,ive checked on the net and found this break down,118cc chamber,256/114cc port, are these any good?and will they fit ok?Think your gonna have to start charging me for all this info LoL!thanks!!
