I linked both my demos of this pedal. This pedal is actually pretty cool if you dial in the right settings. Anyways check out my demos.

Sounded better without the fuzz octave although im curious how the art MP sounds with Boss pedals
-
Better yet, use it with a real amp.

epi rules!!

The beginning of the video sounds awesome ...real hendrixy ... Later-on ...I think it was just the mic gettin over loaded but yeah, dunlop octavio fuzz are one of
the best and if your filthy rich a fulltone.
-
all that bass on your tone sounds like poot... roll it off a little. less is always more.

Video doesn't start till 55 seconds. Sorry!

holy shit, you do realise that the tube MP is a microphone preamp or a DI? not a guitar pedal. a guitar outputs a very low impedence signal therefor a guitar amp expects to see one, which is why it sounds super distorted and crappy. the tube mp outputs at a line level signal.

@scaryfried I do realize that its a microphone tube preamp.... as well as an instrument preamp. It doesn't sound super distorted & crappy because of the preamp. It sounds pushed over the top because of the combination of the distortion/octave pedal & the preamp set to a high output. That's the sound I was looking for. I've been using this same preamp for years now on a clean channel set to a lower output & it gives a lot of extra warmth. It just depends on what sound you're looking for. Relax.

The reason it gets super noisy is because the amp is already overdriven. He presses the pedal and now he has two overdrives going at once. That is why it starts to sound so bad. This pedal is great if you have a clean amp and want a gritty vintage type overdrive with an added octave option. They are a cheap pedal but for the money it is great. Search for other FRENCH TOAST videos and you will see the difference.

Actually, the pedal has the option of using the the octave with or without the fuzz added. I happened to be using it without the pedals fuzz, so this pedal is just plain noisey. Its much worse, like you said, if you use its fuzz and another distortion or overdrive. The fuzz in the pedal is useless to me. Its just too light and pingy and doesn't have much depth or warmth. Now, using it on a clean channel and with the octave only is nice, but I just haven't found a practical use for it yet.

Hi there, am I mistaken or when you start to use the pedal a terrible noise stated?

Yeah, this is a very noisey pedal. It has its purpose, but there are much, much better octave pedals out there. It is fun to play around with though. But yeah, it is definitely noisey.
