If the UVSS allows cut-throat credit card companies on campus then why not the people that protect the luxury of making military service an elective. There are a lot of countries where the people aren't that lucky. I'm greatful, but I'll NEVER sign up. Kudos to people for standing up for what they believe in. I applaud both sides of the vote. You're both right; you're both wrong and the world keeps turning with Canadians hanging on for dear life.

...whoops, i think you're missing a bit of the back-story here/getting confused by the title... this vote was in response to a ban on military recruits at the University of Victoria and, you're quite right, the vote itself went off without a hitch. :)

Nobody banned any vote. To me, it looked as though a vote was held. Just because the vote didn't go a certain way does it mean that anyone banned it. The CF is about enabling votes, not about banning them...

Oil from the Caspian Sea already goes through the brand new Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. Theres no need to go though Afghanistan. And I'm telling you the TAP isn't being built. You're looking at data several years old. TAP is a pipe-dream.

If you do some REAL research you'll see those conspiracy theories are full of holes. The Trans-Afghanistan pipeline that is often cited doesn't exist and is not being built. Its only a proposal. Its unlikely it will ever be built. The idea that the war was started to build a natural gas pipeline (not even an oil pipeline) is ludicrous.
I have no problem with people who question the war. The problem I have is with people who refuse to listen to the answers.
