Today is 13/1/11 and I can't believe it is exactly 2 yrs since Pat left us. I lost my Father-in-law over Xmas & I am reliving this awful sense of loss. To sum up my immediate emotions when viewing 'The Prisoner' 30 yrs ago (which never leaves us but is never recaptured) it would be the excitement of 'heavy brass' accompanied by the wonderment of what our hero is going to go through THIS week! Since 'The Jailbird' I draw 'Oscar & Wild' for the 'Bugle' - watch out for a tribute to Pat soon! BCNU
Sad that McGoohan is gone. I'm not sure Bond would have suited him. He had the charisma and talent, but he seemed better suited to intense and darker characters. I think McGoohan would be better in a LeCaree spy role. I guess he did get to play Bond in a way in Ice Station Zebra: a more realistic, edgier, sardonic spy. Wonderful actor and risk taker. Thanks for the memories.
He has revolted. Resisted. Fought. Held fast. Maintained. Destroyed resistance. Overcome coercion. The right to be a person, someone or individual. We applaud his private war, and concede that despite materialistic efforts, he has survived intact and secure!
