Week 2: Xavier A. Coming Out

How did you go about coming out to your family and friends? What were their reactions? Have you had to come out as transgender in an academic setting? If so, what were your experiences like? Do you have any advice for coming out?

its on my attendance at school & everything all my teachers plus students calls me corey & it feels great. when i hear cora its like ugh whyyyyy . my dad disowned me when he found out i was gay buh he's tryna come bacc but my WHOLE school knows about the gay thing teachers & all they give me advice about new girlfriends and stuff did a project on LGBTQI . so basicly me trying to be pre-T wont be heard until college life . thanks xavier your a great help .

i wish i had it that way my family goes crazy over me being a stud & saggn my jeans. when i came out to my moms she told me iwas confused but then again i was 10. but 5 years later im still Corey.

i'm Happy about the great respons & i think this generation is more accepting of the "new things". Not really much they can be surprised about.

Alexander is a great name, and my mom thought i was a boy in her belly, she was gonna call me Michael. =\

But yeah, i was going to ask, as a matter of fact, i'm going to ask...What made you so set on Xavier ? (btw i really do love that name. My lil brother is named Xavier. Very uinque if you ask me. Dont hear it too often.) But i was just curious.
