Available from Markus www.neuner.de and Hans www.hm-funk.de comes this new antenna from Sirio. Well made, over 7m long so bends in the wind well i can tell you. A little fiddly to make as the inner coax needs to go through the tube from bottom to top (pre installed at the bottom) and ends with a screw tip allen key to hold the wire tight. USE THE MEASUREMENTS FROM SIRIO in the manual, a few mm either way and you will stand for hours to make it work. The swr is reasonably flat from 24.100 @100w 1.9 and from around 26500 to 28000 the swr does not make a movement. Interesting Coax choke on the bottom and something for the patent people. Let the tests begin (when the wind is less that is)

  • iv put one up and found it to be a great antenna but heard simon you have had problems and yours melted what power did it handle before failing

  • @scottishmale1970 One melted with 600w and another melted with 500w and since then have a new inside and all working well. Best to keep them to 200w FM and 300w Maximum on SSB

  • Spent some time last year with this one testing it against a sirio 827. got to say nice antenna but the 827 out rx and tx the high gain every time! only just mind a needle width in it! but a good antenna if you cant have the 827 due to the radials!!!

  • I've heard this antenna is a 5/8 wave dipole? I don't know much about this antenna at all I really should have a read up on it but would love to test one out sometime

  • @KoVurt Nice test, I did the same thing with an antenna 50ft apart the the Gain Master was stronger. Mine works better than the 827 and no shitty radials which is hard to have here. GOOD FOR YOU testing the two, many others are all mouth and not any tests

  • Against my SIRIO 827 which we had a signal check of 7.5 down into penzance, we then took the 827 down and put the GAINMASTER in exactly the same spot.

    an awesome test.

rechecked and the signal was exactly the same down into penzance, we did notice 1/2 an S point better on receive but that was it.

A well built antenna but that's it, I see no benefits.

  • can we have a close up of how you clamped the antenna to your mast pole?

    thanks

  • keep us informed at how you get on. :-) Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
