2011 GT 5.0 Engine knock!!

Not my vehicle, or video.. I saw this posted by a technician, who had a microphone hooked up to each bank to listen for noise. This is amplified, and switching from channel to channel on the various mics hooked up. So, it's not THIS loud inside the car normally. But, it's pretty disturbing to say the least. My car makes the same noise when cold.. I suspect it's a piston slap issue. But, we'll see..

@dragsteralf  Dude.. shut the fuck up.. I build VQ's for a living. I know what they're capable of. Check out my videos. And, it's no secret that certain year VQ's had oil consumption issues. Yes, every engine burns oil, but when it becomes excessive, it's not normal.

302's are the chevy version of the 350. Both are excellent motors. I've had an 81 Crown Vic with the 302 that went 280,000 miles with only a fuel pump, and water pump that ever went out. I sold it for 500 bucks, and who knows what happened to it after that.  And I had a 90 Mustang LX 5 speed that I put 150,000 miles on it. The guy I sold it to 7 yrs ago still has it, and it's pushing the 250,000 mark. I have a feeling this poor 302 has had an abused life.

the sound at 1.22 during coast is the sound im talking about good luck and remember this the next time you consider a Ford

when you let the car coast it sounds almost like improper preload between your final drive gears. im not there to hear this sound myself so my advice would be to at least compare this sound to other videos. id look under: gear whine, improper backlash, improper preload, ring and pinion, differential whine. somewhere along those lines. not sayin i know exactly what your problem is just a thought... oh and if you rev your engine in neutral and it still happens of course you can rule out drivetrain
