George Carlin - Jammin' in New York - 3/6 [SUB ITA]

Con lo spettacolo di oggi torniamo indietro ai primi anni '90 con uno dei nostri beniamini di sempre, George Carlin.

Lo show, dedicato a Sam Kinison (che era da poco scomparso a causa di un incidente stradale), trova un Carlin in grande forma che bilancia una feroce satira politica e di costume con pezzi di umorismo osservazionale ("Avete mai fatto caso che...?"). I circa 17 minuti del pezzo sugli annunci aeroportuali sono ascrivibili a uno dei grandi temi ricorrenti nella poetica carliniana: il linguaggio. Ricordiamo che Carlin, accanto alle cartelle "America" e "Religion", aveva nel computer dove accumulava il suo materiale proprio la cartella "Language". Nei suoi libri sono frequenti i capitoli dedicati agli eufemismi, la perversione del linguaggio attraverso cui si esprime la propaganda e si fomenta l'ipocrisia. Il significato di fondo (l'uomo si sente più importante di quanto è in realtà) è alla base anche del clamoroso pezzo conclusivo, che solo apparentemente è un invito a fregarsene dell'ecologia.

@champton321 Well you'd be surprised the amount of people I've met who think that you get the same amount of training flying planes as you do training to be a waiter for a restaurant. Of course I live in the south and ignorance is abundance.

The audience is boring. Also, most are laughing but aren't realizing what George is hinting. He has given up on humanity, its stupidity and not to mention, all this bullshit cloaking the actual truth. His jokes are funny but point the somewhat obvious fallacies and illogical shit we keep facing daily.
