I hear you Brother. I spent $2K on a TV that turned to crap. Samsung jerked me around - even after I wrote a letter to the President. They tried to send me to 3 repair shops - only to find NONE of them will accept out of warranty work! They did finally give me $175 towards repairs - but I'm sorry - thats just too little too late. NEVER AGAIN BUY SAMSUNG!

Last week I replaced the DMD board on my 61" (mfg 01-2005). (Ebay $99+shipping). Replaced the board today. Set works. (also did bulb and power board in warr.) Been an electro-geek since a kid. Upset that Samsung orphaned this technology in about 5yrs? Hell yes. This set was fraught with engineering issues from the get-go. Nowadays, the "extended warranty" defines "the life" of the item....... unless you're a techie-geek-do it yourselfer with access to OEM parts! Thank G*d for Ebay! (KG6ML)

He said "You are going to probably have something like this happen to you" First he shouldnt say that because he doesnt know that for sure. If 100000 people buy this TV and 20 have this problem but only one posts it on youtube then everyone thinks the TVs have this problem. Its a bit like a viral email

CrashPilot7700 3 weeks ago
@CrashPilot7700, all 3 were purchased within a few months of each other before any had broken. Within 2 years, all 3 had gone out.

hjkLjdy, I bought all 3 within a short period of time. They then all 3 broke at about the same time, I explain this in the video, pay attention

The problem you have here is a manufacturing issue with the DMD chip. I don't think Samsung makes those I believe it is Texas Instruments. But if it's going in Samsung's TV system they own the QA problem. i've owned a HLP5063W for seven years and the only thing i've had to replace is the color wheel (but that's a mechanical bearing that's going to fail after x amount of revolutions). i feel for you but i'm not sure why you keep buying samsung if you've had negative history.

@az1trey, I bought 3 of these TV's within 2 years' time before any had failed. Then all 3 failed in rapid succession, and all with different problems (digital board went out on mine, white dots or "snow" on my father-in-law's, and really bad color effects on my mom's).
