@ThePolarOObear you can see the progress when you look at the m-p-g. The torque in lower revs is much better. of course they could get 500hp from this engine but it wouldn't be that reliable and drivable

I really don't get it: BMW E46 M3 (year 2003) ---> 3.2litre straight 6, naturally aspirated= 343hp. BMW 1M coupe (year 2011)---> 3.0litre straight 6 PLUS TWO turbochargers = 340hp. Where's the fucking progress?! What's the fucking point?! NO point at all... What happened to BMW... ?! I am the biggest BMW-freak you'd ever can imagine! but the new stuff they pull off is just a fucking joke! design-wise AND engine-wise!

In the 1M's defence, no car at 80m/h in 6th gear at 1500rpm is going to pick up quickly. Naturally aspirated or not.
