@canonhf100 - Monfrotto's normally have three small screws on the bottom of the silver coloured circular bottom plate thingy. Those need to be loosened when removing the head from a tripod. Or tightened when affixing a Monfrotto head to a tripod.
I have the same products as you. I cannot unscrew a FLUID head from a tripod after it had been screwed on too tight? No matter how hard I tighten the 'horizonal movement' thumbscrew, the head continues to rotate whilst I try to unsccrw the head, thus preventing the screw from disingaging.
Could you show some sample pans actually using the tripod head, maybe slow pans at different focal lengths? That would be really helpful to get a feel for how well the head works.
