Ignatieff's plan is totally ludicrous. Why should we be paying higher taxes for a plan that panders to lazy deadbeats? This isn't helping the unemployment rate. It's only going to cause it to go up.

well i assumed EI would be paid for by the government in any-case so technically under a conservative government or a liberal government or an NDP government ME THE TAXPAYER would be paying for it. but perhaps not if the conservatives decided HAH the poor can rot on the street we won't help them.....then well we run into proplems like they are having in Libya or Egypt or Syria you know 3 rd world countries. don't get me wrong i'd love to pay no taxes but the cost of it is too high

Interesting comments. Jim Flaherty is raising EI premiums to pay down the deficit after giving our banks 125 billion of tax payer money. Caring about unemployed people doesn't make you wrong. It makes you Canadian.

I read that this plan, if it goes through, would kill almost 400 000 jobs. Yours could be one of them.
