well apparently someone cuts the dogs hair like that, it doesn't ruin your pet, you should love your pet for the character not the look, and different people have different opinions, my opinion is that the dog is cute and looks like a plushie

I have all mine groomed (I have 4 rescues) because they stay clean longer. They love to go to the groomer! One of mine looks like Toby, but he only has one eye! I tease him and ask him why he is always winking at me! He's a doll~

Here's a cute video of another shave 11yr old peke called Oscar. He was given up at the shelter,

Oscar's hair was so matted, he had to be shaved, had 10 teeth pulled and was neutered.

Search for Oscar Pekinese wearing cone, or Oscar Pekinese plays fetch.

i regularly cute my pek's hair, we live in florida and he loves it now, also hes lucky because he looks much better with short hair then long lol (also he was the runt of the litter, hes so small now at 3! lol)

I cut my peke's hair once before also! & he loooked sooo cuteee he felt more free without all that fur. Its alright to cut a pekes hair it'll grow out eventually.
