@SuicideCommando90 yes he had run that time that year, but both Spearmon and Gay were ranked ahead of him on time coming in. Throughout the rounds his last 60m had been his weakness especially in the semifinal when he tied up badly and finished 4th. I think he was in about 3rd when he cramped so a case can be made for a possible medal, but considering how badly he tied up in his semi i doubt it. Was a little soon for Bolt. I was actually going for Bolt but i never thought he would win.

What? Bolt had run 19.99 earlier that year, he was leading that run when he got the injury. Bolt's strength has always been last 60 meters.

@raoulhery that is entirely unsubstantiated. Gatlin yes, but the rest is based entirely off opinion. Possible? Yes. Proven? No.

@SuicideCommando90 no way Bolt would have won here, he would have been lucky to medal. He only scraped through for 4th in his semi and was outclassed throughout. He hadn't yet matured as a sprinter, and was far from the freak we see today.
