Through the 1960's, Selbee Associates [Leonard Burtman] published a full-sized magazine titled High Heels. The magazine presented lovely models with shapely limbs in high-heeled shoes and boots. Many of the models were burlesque dancers but some were experienced pinup posers. They include Alice Denham, Kathey Keene, Tana Louise, Toni Troy, Charlotte King, Sandra Evans, Penni Peyton, Yvonne Warner, Gloria Rand, Michelle Dorian, Bonnie Jewett, Janine Tyrone, Ursula Herrman, Tina Cruz, Betsy Russell, Yvonne Garcia, Zorita, Tee Tee Red, Heather Christie, Helene West, Candy Gee, Vicki Sommers and others, with an occasional appearance by Betty Page.

Pages were also brightened by the comic art of Eric Stanton and Gene 'Eneg' Bilbrew. These illustrators also provided pictures for the short stories that were in most issues. Many issues had a letters to the editor section, accompanied by amateur snapshots, taken at home. This hobbyist photography sometimes showed the best heels in an issue.

Published in 2006, the High Heels Remix ebook collects the best stories, essays, and model pictorials from 8 issues of High Heels that were published from 1962 to 1970. "Best" is defined here as meaning pretty models in high-heeled shoes and boots. Many of the photos show models in full-fashioned stockings.

High Heels continued to be published after 1970 as an Eros Goldstripe title, when Mr. Burtman moved to California. Five Eros Goldstripe High Heels magazines are available at the website as ebooks.

  • Yees...I often wonder what the hell happened to Women. When did they become less curvy...and less nicer, facially? My guess would be the BLOODY SIXTIES... I hated that decade! Women...appearing more like BOYS!! Oh; that's just bloody fantastic....if you're a Catholic Priest or a gay man who likes young boys! But for the rest of us....shite!! Mini skirts??....crap. Pandering to those who know nothing about sensuality. 'Yeah, let's just see bare flesh...that's the sexiest, isn't it?' Duuuuuh!

  • love those heelzz!!! shoeloverrr!!

  • dude, they just don't make 'em that way anymore: the zines & the ladies ;-)
