Xbox 360 Fans 12V vs. 5V (Nidec)

The fans used in the Xbox 360 are 12V and are running on 5V. I guess they did this to keep the sound level lower, but the airflow is also lower which can cause problems resulting in a RRoD. With th...

Delta DC Brushless have a way better airflow, that's right and it will take longer to get a RRoD or none. The only downside is the annoying whining sound.

mine dont whin t all, at full speed (when the 360 starts up some times) all youll hear is airflow, which is allot better than hearing no airflow if you ask me, the niceds sound horrible also how were these powered?, i hooked my fans up to a usb lead so when i turn the 360 off i can plug them into the usb ports which are still on and the fans dont spin as fast/as loud as they normally are on the dashboard (still good though), got the drive is loud sometimes though lol

Actually 10.5 gives a nice balance - it's much quieter than 12v. I got 10.5 using a 9v/10.5v/12v switch - see my vids for info.

just add a remote variable resister and bingo!, and the problem i see with the idec fans is the blade pitch is too shallow and the centeres are too big leaving very little room for the blades, anyone know of a good replacement (not whipser fans im not dumb enough to fall for marketing and bright lights)
