why do people think all middle eastern ppl are black there not black there like dark in song of solomon i doubt he meant he was really black it probably meant he was darker in complextion dont think im saying they were white because they werent that either they were like a brown or a lil to tan. Any way stop making this into a racial battle.

God be all knowing knew Jacob would trick his father for Esau's blessing. Yet before their birth God said the older shall serve the younger. So this was God's will from the beginning. Still it doesn't seem right to achieve God's will by trickery & lies.

Nevertheless God did bless Jacob & Esau both.

@Miracle490d Umm.. if the most high told Rebekah everything that would occur (and obv, the most high knows everything) then how can you say Jacob "deceived" and used "blackmail"? Are you mentally stable? IT WAS WRITTEN BEFORE EITHER OF THE TWO WERE BORN. once Rebekah realized she had her chance, she took it therefore the blessings (as the most high predicted) would be bestowed upon Jacob. Read the bible again, this time read slowly.

Everyone's focused on race. Nobody seems to notice or care that this story rewards Jacob for some pretty bad behavior.He threatens to let his brother die from heat exhaustion unless he gives up his birthright by blackmail & the deceives his blind dying dad to steal his brother's blessing & there was a lot of favoritism in those times.I think this story teaches most what not to do. Jacob pays for his treachery;his father in law deceived & used him 7yrs & all favoritism made brothers want revenge.
