@jakeZaks2012 then explain the interference patterns observed from a simple interferometer or double slit experiment. you cant just say its one or the other, its both. Even QED uses waves dynamics in its description.
@obviousfakename7, quantum electrodynamics (QED) regards light as a particle, and the theory explains ALL of light's properties and effects in terms of moving photons.
When you try to detect light, you ONLY ever detect a particle, NEVER a wave. So, light is a particle.
"QED" by Richard Feynman for a non-technical explanation. Also, Google "vega" and "feynman" for lectures on this.
@datzfast: LOL. If by "this theory" you mean Quantum Mechanics, then no, it hasn't been debunked. Neither has the Wave-Particle duality of light and other small particles. The results of the double slit experiment haven't been debunked either. So what are you talking about?
@Bludgeonier: When there is only one slit, there is no interference pattern. I think you mean "even when only one photon passes through the slits at a time, the interference pattern forms".
light is neither a wave nor particle, its just light
