Oh and I wouldn't call people "idiots" just because they voted a certain way - a politician is meant to be imparcial and are forbidden to make such comments in public - as Gordon Brown demonstarated spectacularly in 2010

Fab intro to Brit politics mate

I was hoping for something a bit more in depth than this, but it's good for an intro.

Please check out The Party of SLEAZE by Tokyo Rose. It's a laugh but it looks like one day it may come true.

Queen = head of state
Prime Minister = head of government.

Hey man, really informative video. Your slant is pretty obvious, but the overall description of how the UK politics work was helpful. If possible, you might want to try to do something to fix your lighting. It kept shifting throughout the length of the video. Thanks

@mmgwire Takes to much time to find the best lighting.

Hi Jordan--I took a deep interest in your country's most recent election and kept up with the news by going to various UK newspaper websites. Glad to see that you are a Labour supporter. And now, perhaps you could explain to an American: what in the heck does 'constituency surgery' mean? PS: I loved the movie 'Billy Elliot' (intend to see the musical soon) and appreciated its anti-Thatcher undertone. --JD, Ohio

@lincjan77 I think you mean constituency, and if so, thats an area a candidate is running in, hoping to be elected. For example, in London their is a town called Barking. If i lived in Barking, and was allowed by the labour party, i could run for Labour MP in my constituency of Barking.
Or i could decide to run as an independent candidate (not in a party) So if i lived in Barking, that would be my constituency.
