While messing around with my audio editor, I came to the conclusion that Chris Thile's masterful work "Watch'at Breakdown" sounds pretty darn good when slowed down. Very Bayouesque in nature, like the theme to a movie set in the back swamps of Louisiana. I take no credit for the music in this video, as it is the brain child of Chris Thile.

You can hear Chris and his current band, the Punch Brothers, performing the full speed version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCxoJiemhJg

  • Very fun experiment - this may be the only way mere mortals can play PB on mando at home ;-P

  • Very cool stuff. I'm gaining a whole new appreciation for the melodic and rhythmic structure...

  • Interesting, it sounds like a totally different song. Kind of like a lazy Sunday afternoon.
