(Chorus)
What is it that you want to change?
What determines what is strange?
What Humanity would you exchange
to be the people we've become.
woah, the people
woah, the people
woah, the people we've become
(Verse 1)
Give your life to someone else
in exchange for paper wealth
buy the stuff your TV sells
that keeps you in your civilized cell
(Chorus)
What is it that you want to change?
What determines what is strange?
What Humanity would you exchange
to be the people we've become.
woah, the people
woah, the people
woah, the people we've become
(Verse 2)
Produce more unnecessary stuff each day
staying in-line with the civilized way
exploiting tomorrow to consume today
with no sorrow, no dismay
(Chorus)
What is it that you want to change?
What determines what is strange?
What Humanity would you exchange
to be the people we've become.
woah, the people
woah, the people
woah, the people we've become
This is a great idea. I am in the process of writing a new patriot song - something that could inspire like in the days of the revolutionary war. I stole the theme of America the Beautiful and lapped it over different chords, rearranged the order musically. I'm however not confident enough to post it like you are now. Good work. A folk movement like the 60s will help us!
