Shot on the opening day of Star Trek: The Exhibition that will stay open through January of 2009 at the San Diego Air & Space Museum (where they also have the original Apollo 9 capsule in all its ablated glory!).
These photos were shot prior to the banning of cameras at the event. Probably because of my - SNAPS PROVOLONE! But I get special rights in this city.
You are only able to take a photo at the entrance before the gates (next to the Apollo display) or pay to have photos taken of your friends and family throughout the tour.
There is an actual DARPA built original Enterprise Bridge that is used for training purposes.
There are other simulators as well, plus you get access to the rest of the Air & Space Museum for the cost of the $25 ticket to the Star Trek Exhibition (you should also try the Star Trek Experience when they relocate and rebuild it in Las Vegas).
Go enjoy all that Balboa Park has to offer...
Museum after Museum - the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center - The Awesome 19 hole Frisbee Golf Course - Parks - Traveling Shows & Collections - Art - Insane Botanical Gardens - The San Diego Zoo & more!
