Shortage of trained doctors in South Africa.

South Africa desperately needs more medics but the new doctors whose training it heavily subsidies are rejecting the townships and moving abroad. Canada depends on foreign doctors and can afford to offer an attractive salary package. However, should the West really be stealing doctors from the Third World?

I'm an ex pat living in New Zealand. I'm not in the medical profession, but in IT. The principles are still the same and that Canadian lady said it, when you offer the job to someone they have already made up their mind about moving. No international employer should ever feel that they are poaching, but rather that if SA can't look after their people, too bad so sad! @JillnRe - please don't move to SA, I've been here in NZ for 3 years now and haven't even been back for a visit.

South Africa you have the capacity to educate your own pple to meet your needs.. Doctors in Africa dont have to be white..

safety?? becos u live in stJohn's. Come and liove in toronto and let me hear u say safety. This is incredible, u went to medical school for little or nothing. In Canada it will cost u way more and bigger hurdle to jump to go into medical school. If u speak about working condition then i agree but safety that is a liar.

Canada it bothers me becos there lots og doctors from all natioanale that u guys have ignored and given them a higher hurdle to cross. Sad and racist decision Canada

the woman at 10:40 says it's their own people that need their help yet the South African governmental does everything it can to alienate the white population. Good for these doctors, take all the opportunities you get while they're available.
