I like how at the beginning it says to take note and do research. Apparently, the only research done by this post was on anti-Mormon sites and not a true research looking into both sides.

I learnt alot of the problems on FAIRS and FARMS LDS apologetic websites ( who despite being LDS etc state quote : " FAIR is not owned, controlled by or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I guess what I'm asking is why, with no evidence to support your claims, would you simply trust your feelings when they are clearly not to be trusted as found in the Bible?

When a missionary asks one to pray overt the BOM, there's really only one correct answer, and that's that it's true. If you get a negative answer, there's a problem with you, not with the book.

Of course facts are important because while they don't create our faith, they confirm it. That's the reason that there are som many videos here trying to tie BOM events to the Mayas, Incas, Toltecs, and Aztecs, all unsuccessfully. Eve Thomas Stuart Ferguson tried to do exactly that and left Mexico an apostate.

@moparmonster1965 Perhaps I can't answer your questions in detail as I pointed out that I am not a scholar. Instead what I am doing is giving you something you can apply directly to your life to see for yourself that this is truth. I see nothing general about that. Instead it is very direct. I am just trying to help out. Don't get so hung up on only looking at fact. Allow the Holy Ghost to testify to your soul the truth.

You haven't answered my questions but rather fell back to a rather general response that I've heard a thousand times before. WHat this shows is that Mormonism relies on feelings, not facts, and is the reason that one of my favorite Biblical verses is 1 Thess 5:21: "Prove all things and hold fast to that which is good."

If even the Bible tells us not to tke its word for it, why would you then trust your feelings? Isn't the heart deceitful above all things? (my other favorite verse)

@moparmonster1965 My testimony is born of God not of man. Thats how I know its right. I have the holy ghost with me and I am able to discern between truth and error. I challenge you to memorize your favorite scripture, no matter which one it is and the next time you are tempted, no matter what temptations you struggle with, say the scripture out loud or in your head and watch the tempation disappear. Tempation always comes back but your armor will thicken.

And yes, those are good things, but if the church has been so wrong in the past, how can you be so sure that it's right now?

Just because you're following the church doesn't mean you're following God. If Jesus were the perfect man, God incarnate, and the savior of mankind, he couldn't possibly make a mistake like we find in 3 Nephi 20:23-25, could he?
