A short demo of my 3D Window Manager Framework for Windows Vista. The demo shows a very simple window manager that allows windows to be rotated. Further window managers could be created. The framework and window manager run inside the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) process.

  • Do you transform the mouse clicks into the 3D space (for example, in that demonstration of using Paint)?

  • I think the answer is yes. The intersection point between the line projected from the mouse point and the window's plane is calculated. This is then mapped back to the 2D window so that it behaves as expected.

  • Hi,

Did this project go anywhere since then ? Is there a way to get source code for it ?

  • It's amazing to see people interested in these kinds of projects. I hope someday something like this is released, and fairly usable. I would love the idea of a more desktop manipulation.
