Over the past 4 decades, the use of plastics has dramatically changed the way Americans live. From food storage containers, to pacifiers, to beverage bottles & surgical supplies (like IV bags), we've trusted plastic to deliver human consumption products for many years. Therefore, it's only logical that we look to plastic tubing to deliver our hot & cold water in today's new homes. ZurnPEX plumbing systems, as in the past, are at the forefront of this evolutionary process. The PEX Plumbing and Radiant Heating Systems of Zurn Industries proudly manufactures both brass insert fittings and cross-linked polyethylene tubing. We feel this provides ZurnPEX plumbing systems the highest level of quality control in the industry.

  • builders use pex because they can run the lines cheaply, and fast. They get paid , then they are gone. They don't care what happens 5-10 years later when all the leaks occur.

  • this system looks a lot easier to maintain and add on to for the homeowner.

the only bad thing for the homeowner is have to buy that really expensive crimp tool.

i guess the homeowner should keep a deditcated tool box just for the plumbing.

  • true. when I used to be a plumber, my company had at least 4 houses flooded due to the cheap Korean fittings breaking up. We'd either use Vanguard brass fittings or ProPex fittings after that.

I hate to piss off you old school plumbers, but copper sucks. Too expensive, too much labor, NOISY, and wastes water. CPVC is good as long as it's perfectly straight, but wirsbo pex is the best as long as you right. that's with almost no elbows and minimum fittings.

  • very true. but with saying that zurn used the cheapest bidder to supply there brass fittings. you just cant trust korean manufacturing.

  • Hey dude....what happens to copper??? think about it. The plastic will outlive the house

  • I think that 20 years from now their will be hell to pay when all types of pex begin to drgrade due to the high levels of Chlorine in the drinking water...

    wait and see ...

  • The lawsuit is centered around the brass fittings that were used, not the PEX pipe.

  • I understand that their is now a class action law suit on Zurn pex??
