Many children with autism are very motivated by visual sensory input. At The Autism Treatment Center of America we often see children flapping their hands by their eyes, dropping pieces of paper in front of their faces, looking at objects close to their eyes, etc. We have found that one of the best ways to create more connection with our children is to create games based on each child's specific motivations. If your child is motivated by visual sensory input - here are some ideas for you to use to create more interaction.
