After speaking to the man himself many years ago what happened was the engine stopped and he was at the time going down wind and had to make an emergancy landing thus resulting in the crash btw were he laned wasnt even the runway so and the comment on it being to heavy it isnt to heavy at all and hes been flying this machine along time so the landing gear is fine.

@SkunkapeProductions The ground on the far side of the runway is very soft because of the river running along the perimeter of the airfield, as soon at the nosewheel touched down it dug in and started the flip.
Looked to me like it was actually a very good landing in the circumstances, if it was more solid ground he would have just bounced to a halt with no problems.
That would have been the 1987 airshow?

its looks as though he may have mis judged flare for landing as he did appear to have enough blade energy or rpms

Too heavy. You can see when the engine went out it just dropped. Better landing gear would have helped. Something with some spring shock.
