@LEGRANDIOOS I always thought this song was about a working class couple. He's Blackhawk and she's the White Winged Dove. She's recalling the love they shared in the early years. Wrecking Ball is one of the greatest albums ever made.

@LEGRANDIOOS It's the couple themself...It's why the lyric says "They were Black Hawk, and the White Winged Dove." It's just a native affectation when Daniel Lanois wrote the song, like Dances with Wolves.
