This is my motorcycle, it needs some work to bring it back to what it used to be and some of the parts are missing like the original fenders and lights, I've got the gages for it though.
@narmett Ported head, dome top piston.,rejetted carb and its had a sprocket change as well. Yes I realize that. I never said it was beast or a power house, I was just stating a fact that it does good for what it is. I've never said it was anything special, just an old bike and I enjoy it for what it is.
Oh, yours has been hotrodded? What'd you squeeze out of the beast? Another 3hp at the crank and 1hp at the rear wheel? I llike XL250s and even my 15hp XL175 but powerful they're not. And XL250s were DOWN to 18hp by the early 80s.
@narmett believe it or not he had both hands on the bars and he isn't used to a bike this size. That and the fact he's only rode it a few times is why. He didn't have the right throttle/releasing the clutch ratio. One last thing, you said 20hp. Thats stock, who said mine was stock?......
I love riding my XL250, but they're only 20hp. So, if it nearly jumps out from under your brother he must be straddling it with his weight up off the seat and someone else operating the throttle while he holds his hands over his head.
@nathanreed94 I got a great deal on this one and I ride it, I'm 6'1 230lbs and believe me, it pulls me around like its nothing. My brothers about the same size as me and it nearly jumpped out from under him. I'll give you a good example. Curising in 2nd on dirt or gravel, you can gun it and it'll start slinging rooster tails trying to dig in.
