The CFTC is changing leverage requirements for forex traders. This is not being received very well by the industry but what does it really mean?

  • i think it boils down to price per pip. How much do you make on 3:1 leverage each pip? Leverage is not a sales gimmick it's just leverage. If you had a 5 thousand dollar account on 3x your not making shit , maybe 50,000

  • @wgrevillefx - so the CFTC just made us USE MORE CAPITAL to make the SAME return on investment ! hello. That's the end of the story.

  • Where was the video on leverage and margin? When I trade with a $10,000 account and I can make $1000 a month at 400:1 leverage, so to make the SAME amount of return using the same trading strategies, I now need 4 times the capital to trade with a 100:1 leveraged account. I am assuming that the margin call is 75% of the account in all cases.

So why is smaller leverage better? Oh yeah, I have to have a large account size now that it's 50:1 I need 8 times the capital.... so now I need $80,000
