Part Eight: The Armos Knights

After braving the dangers of the deadly Eastern Palace, Link finds himself in the last chamber of the dungeon...and the resting place of the magical relic, the Pendant of Courage. Unfortunately, he also finds six rather beefy-looking armos, brought to life to protect the treasure hidden within. These armos were picked among the greatest of the robust warriors, and attained the rank of Armos Knights, swelling in size and perfecting their ability to march in formation. The guardians were hell-bent on squishing little Link into a puddle of goo...but our young hero was determined to show what flesh and blood could be capable of. He sliced and diced and shot pointy arrows at the armos' eyes and belly buttons, proceeding to chisel the statues down to size, one by one. Needless to say, the last armos standing became enraged when he saw his friends reduced to rubble, and attacked Link with renewed vigor. However, with the use of clever dodging, rolling, stabbing, slicing, shooting, and keyboard-tapping, young Link prevailed. The final Armos Knight crumbled to dust and revealed the talisman we fought so hard to retrieve (along with a heart container, too!), and Link shook his little tush to a victorious fanfare of digitized instruments, composed by some silly Japanese guy by the name of Koji Kondo. After proceeding to clense the palace of the rest of the evil by means of obscene display of dirty-dancing, Link returned to Sahasrahla with the pendant and gained the old man's confidence in him.

The old man mused about the possibility of Link being an incarnation of the fabled Knights of Hyrule, and thus declared him the hope of all of Hyrule...

...oh no...

...you know what that means, don't you? Yes! More dungeons. More monsters. More headache.

Poor Link.

Well, someone has to do it! And with his newly aquired Pegasus Shoes, Link is the perfect candidate. All right, Link, time to put on your new footwear and prepare for the next great dungeon siege. Be sure to bring lots of water, too, because next on our list is...

...the Desert of Mystery...

  • Guy: You qualify! Here's a piece of a human heart!

Link: What am I supposed to do with this? Eat it?!

    Guy: No. Summon the devil.

  • Instead of utilizing the "float and crash" attack and coordinating their efforts to eliminate their target in the beginning of a battle, Armos Knights will instead employ the "Michael Flatley" maneuver which is of course named after the famous Lord of the Dance. Only when an Armos Knight is lacking a dance partner will it utilize the deadly "float and crash".

  • Doctor, didn't you say the arrows were most effective against Heavily armored targets? Well I might be mistaken but it's possible that the Arrows effectiveness varies on what your fighting like the Lava Gators in Twilight Princess. You can dodge around them and attack their tails or you can shoot an arrow down their gullet for a one shot kill. Some things are similiar so you just needed to find out what targets were weakest to the arrows.

  • I run this on an Emulator also
