While I can sympathize with you friend trying to use minisodes to sell you on the show, I don't think he picked something that good of a starter. I'd recommend watching "Blink", it's a pretty good stand-alone episode, and it's got a completely different flavor from this minisode. Even if it doesn't leave you wanting to see more, it should be at least somewhat entertaining.
