  • hi, i've been watching your videos for quite a few months now. as a newbie to survivalism and a city dweller, can you guide me in the right direction for an absolute beginner?

  • @tylertyler82 - are you a member of the survivalistboards forum? We have a whole section dedicated to urban survival.

  • Those noodle packets are excellent for survival situations. They were invented by Momofuku in poverty ridden post war Japan to provide a cheap tasty high calorie meal. You might want to go with the Japanese and Korean brands for higher quality, better flavor. One noodle bag is a 500 calorie meal. But hint on cooking.. boil water first, put in flavor packet second, put in noodle last but DON'T crush it up. You also want to put in enough water so the noodles are totally submerged.

  • @SpikesScarletWitch yep, sometimes I will add 2 eggs. But I like my Ramen drained of all excess water ;)

  • NO NO NOOOOO thats not how you make those noodles

  • so you had to get an rx from your doctor for this? how gay

  • @tylertyler82 for camping go other places, but for beginner survival I recommend the Book 98.6 degrees by cody lundin.

  • That Vargo Titanium 750 Sierra is my favorite for backpacking. I like that the tapered sides to use all of the flame. I like the open design, rather than like a mug, so I can saute spices in oil, boil, or fry, for example: a pan-sized trout.

I use it with the Guyot Designs spatula that snaps apart with a spoon.

The lid will pour off excess liquid. That pan will do a lot more than ramen noodles.

  • It is normal for titanium to discolor with heat. It does not mean that the stove is being damaged. It is fine to use an alcohol stove with this.

  • I bought one of these vergo stoves after this video great peace of equipment worth every dime ( REI is offering no shipping fees in December ) great wind screen for tangea stove does discolor I have tried a lot of different thing and this vargo titanium stove is a lot better setup than a hobo can contraption

:-) at least anything I have made and it is collapsable

  • They would have cooked faster if you keep the door closed

  • there goes my bag...........hang on!

  • HILARIOUS!

pleaple leaving comments are more interested in the ramen noodles than the stove... lol.

i like this stove, but will it hold the weight of a large pot or skillet? i'd like to try to cook something more substantial on it, like ckicken breast or steak. ;)

once again, great video kev. ur my hero. ;)

  • I thought you would not say a word.
