May your reign continue for a thousand, eight thousand generations, until the pebbles grow into boulders lush with moss.
The lyrics are based on a Waka (poetry) written a thousand years ago. In the Edo period, It came to be familiar as a celebration song.

@ultraguy14 The reason to drop the nuclear bombs was because america realised that the biological weapons they had planned to use agains the population of Japan wouldnt make them look too good, and because they needed to test the effects of said bombs.
At the end of the war, the only way millions of BOTH sides would have died would be an american invasion.
Japan itself was very dangerous to the allies within their then limited range. Beyond that they were harmless, as most islands were lost.

@Weemancake I meant barbaric in the sense that the attack was so brutal. Not primitive technologically.
I've never heard of anyone celebrate firebombings. The nuclear attacks are herald as the strike that ended the war though, so I can see why they wouldn't be considered bad by the majority of people. In all reality if the war continued for another year or so it's estimated that millions would have been killed on both sides in the planned invasions.

@ultraguy14 Just because the Japanese were portrayed as primitive through propaganda doesnt mean they were.
As a matter of fact, the US was lacking behind technology wise about 40 years. The reason they won was their industrial might, not their technology.
The rape of Nanking doesnt justify the killings of hudnreds of thousands Japanese civilians. Japanese people are ashamed of the Nanking disaster, but americans celebrate their firebomb and nuclear weapon strikes even today.

@Weemancake I'd have to say the murder of hundreds of thousands of Chinese citizens and disarmed soldiers and well as the rape of tens of thousands of women in Nanking would would a much worse. The Nanking massacre sounds more like the attack of a barbarian horde than the army of a civilized nation.

@ultraguy14 Terrorism is deliberate killings of civilian people in order to gain a political advantage.
Wouldnt that make america responsible for the biggest terrorist act in history?
If you take everything litteraly and avoid facing the fact that the allies, specifically america, did commit genocide, be it an act of war or not, would that mean that i should think that 9/11 was okay just because these terrorists cannot declare war? (appearently america can declare war on terrorism though...)

@Weemancake Firebombings were an act of war, nuclear weapons were an act of war. If you can call that genocide then ever death during every war ever was an act of genocide. Genocide is the deliberate killing of a group of people simply because they are apart of that group. Two nations going to war over oil disputes doesn't constitute a genocide.
Also why do you keep calling me pro American when I have never once singled out and mentioned America, only the Allies.
