I do not know. First and foremost, let me make it clear that I am not a scientist, and probably not the best source to answer your question. There are so many factors to consider involving shifts in weather that it's difficult to prove causation from correlation. Predicting weather is still an educated guessing game. What I do know for certain is that water expands when cooled, and to claim the opposite is like claiming gasoline puts out fire!! IPCC research tends to do that a lot!!
