This is perhaps the most important exercise to learn and practice for guitar and an excellent warm up for guitarists of any level.

  • How do i reduce the strings from raddling? Am I not pressing on the strings hard enough or is a finger placement technique that reduces it?

  • @07LeeMoore07 It could be a rsult of not pushing down hard enough, or more commonly bad placement, make sure you are towards the right side of the fret, if you are to far to the left side of the fret area it will buzz. If you still find the problem, it could be the guitar itself.

  • what do i do if my fingers dont stretch between the frets.... :(

  • @ChoclatexLesbians - Keep trying, your fingers will increase in ability to stretch. Just like someone trying to do the splits, it's not going to happen overnight but through continued practice.

  • @Guitar101Ramstein

When playing it backwards and getting fingers 2 – 4 ready on the string above while playing the last note on the previous string with finger 1, am I supposed to press down fingers 2 – 4 on the correct frets already or shall I gently stay in that position and successively press down fingers 4 – 2 as I play the notes up?

    Thanks!

  • @JolleyRog3r Yeah, you let your fingers hover over the above string until you are ready to change to that string. Try to get in the habit of keeping them as close as possible before it's time to press down as well.
