Also first shot at this epic piece of noiseballad.
Some parts could not be done due to the nature and the limits of the acoustic guitar.

  • Love this. I too have been playing these acoustic for years, seems I found my kindred spirit. :) Nowadays I have made simplified folkish fingerpicking covers in normal tuning, trying to come to terms with the vocals, melodies and lyrics. It's fun cuz the songs are so riff orientated. No matter how old we get, we will always be the sonic youth.

  • @konsumer77 - Thanks a lot my friend. Very cool that you too have walked the beautiful fields of several tunings :) It would be fun to hear/see some of the old covers and some of the new fingerpicking ones? Sounds pretty cool. Thanks again!

  • @nvanliforp I don't really have anything recorded, but I was actually planning to record the ones I've been playing recently. If get to it after I shake off this flu, I'll drop you a line.

  • @konsumer77 - Excellent! Looking forward and in the meantime I'll to get back on my feet due to same flu actually, sigh.

  • Thanks again my friend and I agree with you. The beauty really shows when played acoustic (not that I'm doing it right) .

  • It's an excellent song. Really simply SY when it's best I think. I kind of feel it almost sounds better on a spanish acoustic. More depth and bass sound. Maybe I should do it again on that.

But the tuning is really great. Lots of variations.

  • i think this works better on acoustic, great cover

  • love it, i have fun with this tunings and the i wait part

  • Hey disnukka79 and thanks for all the commenting - very very appreciated!

I fully agree on the breakdowns - it's like they got some sort of receipe of how many different sections they'll do and always there's this kind of instrumental breaks that you refer to. I love it. It's a receipe that works for me :)

I guess, just like you say, that there's something familar or even nostalgic about those riffs. It's like a safe place. Definitely one of the SY forces.

  • For example rain on tin has a little section in it towards the end that sounds like the part you were playing from around 3:02 through 4:00... It's almost like interchangeable song parts or something with nice variations.
