I used to live in Philadelphia and had the opportunity to hear this great orchestra in person. I have had my fair share of travels and have heard many orchestras. Perhaps my opinion is a bit partial but I must say that the Philadelphia Orchestra DEFINITELY ranks among the greatest orchestras of the world!

and it was an absolutely critically acclaimed triumph with the Berlin Phil!
Maybe they do know something after all.
His recordings keeping winning major awards. He seems to always be invited back to conduct wherever he goes. I have seen him rehearse and the orchestra in question loved him. Give him some credit and some time to grow to.

@martinusB95 yep. I'm listening, and indeed: great orchestra. It's funny, because Mr martinusB95 here seems quite oblivious to the fact that orchestras nowadays can play with their eyes closed - which they do whenever a peasant dressed as a cheap Italian restaurant waiter comes to 'conduct' them.
One of the world's incontestably great orchestras no matter who conducts it.
