Hever Castle Triathlon 2010 - Part 2 of 3

Hever Castle Triathlon 2010, Sunday 26th September. This video has more of the bike race and me coming in for the changeover to Mike the runner.

I get on the route as I had been down there loads practising. Zoom down the first hill, then take the long 2k hill in my stride. Neck a gel right away. Great feeling as your passing so many people, ok these are guys and girls who are doing the whole thing, but it makes you feel great! Zoomed up that hill no problems. 10k in, two pro's overtake me, but I'm not fazed, still in bronze position and i know they are good. Didn't like the fact that they had not closed the roads off and there was still live traffic about. Going up a hill I caught up some more cyclists and over took them, car behind toots, I have him the usual response. Get to my fav downhill bit and I hit 43.9mph. WOOOSHHHH. Van down at the bottom of the hill stuck behind slow cylcists, I have to slow down, not good. I undertake the van and over take the cyclists. COME ON!!!

First lap done and I felt ok. I went slower on this lap but pushed as much as I could, necking more gels and stuff. I counted about 5 or 6 more pass me. Had a long dual with some guy who I beat in the end. I guess he was using all his energy to get past me then would drop back and i would take him. cursing and swearing all the way up the final hill I turn in to the transition. Over speed humps I push it hard, every last bit I have left. More cyclists infront, I race up to the dismount line taking one of them. Run for my life with my bike held high bouncing jumping pumping shouting at people to get out my may. Get to Mike and we get the chip off. I collapse still with the number belt around me, we get that off and off he goes.
