The Histrory of "Doug FM" 93.1FM WDRQ Detroit - starring Doug! Previously WJBK-FM, WDEE, & WLTI "lite-fm". Video produced by Steve Kosbau Directed by Bryan Harnell, & Edited by Art Vuolo.
Lets tell Detroit that one of these days, these broadcasting towers will be decommissioned in favor of on-demand versions of this media (i.e. menu choice of media with servers to commence playback; but there should still be a "shuffle mode" for it).
i also remember when they changed to doug. I also remember when they were wlti. Doug was right those years were the wimp years at that station! It was a nice surprise when they changed in 1996. I was in the car returning to detroit and was pleasantly surprised. Anyone know what the ratings were for them were like for them when they were easy listening?
OK, I don't mean to be so negative in regards to "Doug FM", but its ABSOLUTELY redundant!! If you listen to the music played on this station, you will notice that MORE than half of it is played on the other stations in the area! Keep in mind that Detroit has at least one, if not two different radio stations for each genre of music, so therefore, having this station in the Detroit area is, in my humble opinion, totally POINTLESS!! Not to mention, these fools changed formats on APRIL FOOLS DAY !!!
Well I'llbe Douged!
