Dazzle Agility Trial - EAT, 4-21-07

Dazzle and I went to another EAT (Extreme Agility Team) NADAC trial on April 21-22. The trial was held at Argus Ranch in Auburn WA.

This was certainly not Dazzle's best trial - but at least my mind is at ease because I know why.

During the first day, the first run, of the trial I noticed that something was off with her. Not to mention the fact that she REALLY had to go to the bathroom both before and after her run (she has never been like that before). So of course I was worried after that. I talked to some of our training friends about it - including vets. It was nothing life-threatening, or even something that would get worse if we continued running in the trial. But we would certainly be going to the vet on Monday morning.

So I didn't scratch Dazzle - and she really wanted to run. But she was just so "off" and not running like I was used to, thus the lack of Q's that weekend.

On the video is her first Elite tunnelers run - and her Q for that trial! That was great!

Also a jumpers run, where she knocked two bars (something she doesn't do very often these days), but it was still a nice run.

Then also a Touch n' Go - like all the runs that weekend, it was very nice (she did all the discriminations!) but something strange would go wrong.

And lastly, a regular run. She slows on the dogwalk because the dog before her peed on it. And then the reason she went off course was entirely my fault. I said "Go" when I should have said "Come". But she did good!

So there were a few OK runs I guess - but she was certainly not herself. But of course the lack of Q's means nothing in the long run - only her health and well being. There are always more trials - but there is only one Dazzle!

After the vet visit it confirmed that the problem was.....she had a UTI. After some antibiotics and supplements I am happy to report that it is all cleared up now and she is ready for the next trial!
