mine forever - chapter 101

*nat*
I went back to the hospital that night. yea I was devastated but i wasnt going to spend the last minutes of my dad's life crying in my room. I had to spend it with him right here, right now. We talked for a while, he kept telling me how strong i am. I nodded in response though i didnt agree. we fell into silence for a while and somewhere along the way we both fell asleep.

It felt like seconds but when i felt someone tug my hair behind my hair and kiss my cheek, i woke up to find it had been 3 hours. i looked up at ty who caressed my cheek with his finger and smiled down at me. I quickly turned next to me to see my dad's eyes closed, his hand still holding mine. I felt ty rub my back.
'dont worry, he's just sleeping.' he assured me and i was relieved to notice that his stomach was moving up and down as he breathed. I looked at him for a moment and kissed his cheek. Why did i fall asleep!? i just wasted 3 hours, 3 hours i have left with my dad..

Ty kneeled down next to the bed and took my other hand in his. I turned to look at him and his expression was no longer smiling.
'what?'
'nat, i know you want to be here for your dad.. but you havent eaten anything or spoken to anyone, we're all worried.' i sighed and turned to look back at my dad. I began running my finger up and down his stubbly old cheek.
'i'll have the rest of my life to do all those things ty. But how long do i have to be here, next to my dad?' i gulped as i swallowed a sob.
'right here, tonight, these are the last moments i have with my dad. I'm not giving it up for anything.' i heard him sigh. I turned toward him and held his cheek in my hand.
'i have my entire life to look into your eyes and tell you how much i love you.' a small smile grew on his face. I looked back at my dad and resumed caressing his cheek.
'but i just have tonight to tell my dad how much he means to me. Just tonight ty. just tonight.' i heard him stand up and i felt his breath on my shoulder.
'just know that i love you so much.' he whispered and planted a kiss on my cheek before leaving the room.

*an hour later*
It had been an hour and my dad was still asleep so i went to the bathroom to straighten up. When i returned back to the room i saw my dad getting out of bed and sabrina helping him.
'sabrina!... DAD! What are you guys doing?!' i ran over and started 'helping' dad get back into bed.
'i told you she'd take it well.' sabrina mumbled to dad with this 'i-told-you-so' kinda look on her face.
'nat, we have something to do.' she as a matter of factly.
'what something? He's not supposed to get outta bed, what the hell are you thinking?'
'he'll be fine! This is important ok.'
'i dont care if it's world war 3!! (an: haha!) He is not getting out of bed or leaving this room!' sabrina sighed exasperatedly.
'ok nat, i love you and everything but do not make me tie you up right now. I swear to god, i will!' we started getting into a staring contest.
'ok girls, c'mon, let's just-'
'stay outta this dad!' we both said at the same time. It took us all a minute to realise what sabrina just said and we both looked at her with shocked expressions.
'what...?' she asked awkwardly with a raised eyebrow.
'did you just call him.... Dad?'
